Frequently Asked Questions
These are some of the frequently asked questions that I have received. If you have a question that is not answered here please let me know! I want to make sure that all of your questions are answered so that you feel comfortable using me to capture your memories.
Where are you located?
I am located in Farmington Hills Michigan, but I absolutely love to travel! If your event is somewhere I have been itching to go I will even give a special discount.
How long until I receive photos?
For sessions photos will be delivered in 2-3weeks
Weddings are delivered in 4-6 weeks.
What is the process to reserve you as a photographer?
Step 1. Contact me!
Let me know what kind of photography you are looking for and the date you are interested in reserving. After I hear from you I can start to schedule your free consult for your wedding or session date for another type of photography session.
Step 2. Free Consultation – Get to know each other
This step is very important for my couples wanting my wedding photography services. Because a wedding is such an important event it is crucial to make sure that we are a good fit and that expectations are clear by both parties. It also allows me the opportunity to get to know you and your story. I love to be able to chat over coffee and answer any questions that you might have.
Step 2. Contract and retainer - Required for all photography services.
After meeting each other and deciding that you would like to hire my services a contract needs to be signed and a retainer paid to hold the date of services. Because I get multiple inquiries for a specific date, dates are not held until the contract and retainer are received. These are all done electronically for ease and convenience. Full payments are due 10 days before the wedding or the day before the session date for photography services.
Step 3. Engagement pictures
I love doing engagement pictures for my couples. It gives us the ability to get to work with each other before the wedding day. This helps to create chemistry and a more relaxed environment for the big day. However, I realize that not all couples want engagement pictures for various reasons. Simply let me know through email or at your consult so that I can create a custom wedding package that will fit your personality and needs.
Step 4. Timeline discussion
One week before the wedding we will have a conversation either over the phone, in person, or over skype to put down on paper the events of the day. This ensures that the wedding day will go smoothly and without a hitch.
Step 5. Wedding day!!!!
A timeline has been created, all paper work and discussions have been taken care of so all that is left is to get married!
Are you published?
Yes! Jenny May Photography has been published in multiple publications including: How he asked by the knot, Rustic Wedding Chic, Reverie Gallery, The Knots Villa, The Coordinated Bride, and Borrowed and Blue.
How would you describe your style?
I am a natural light photographer that blends portraits with candid photojournalism. I consider myself to be an unposed photographer. This means that I step back and direct to help make natural moments and intimacy happen.
